DJI RS5 was launched in China with several major upgrades. The gimbal comes with support for a new generation of stabilization algorithms that have been improved in terms of smart tracking, stabilization and control experience.
The RS5 also retains the new automatic axis lock that allows the axes to be locked quickly when the camera is turned off or in ‘Sleep Mode’. This feature makes it easier to move and allows the camera to resume working immediately when turned on.
DJI RS5 supports the new ‘Enhanced Smart Tracking’ module that can display images on the screen and track objects such as people, vehicles or pets. The module is capable of tracking up to 10m and can re-identify the subject even if it temporarily leaves the frame. In addition, it supports control via gestures or touches on the screen and can be easily mounted using a magnetic system.
The new generation stabilization algorithm is optimized for various shooting scenarios, thus reducing the effects of shake in the footage. This new software and hardware combination provides a more stable shooting experience.
The RS5 supports a new electronic grip that facilitates one-handed use and low-angle camera movement. It also adds an on-screen Z-axis stabilization indicator to help users adjust their steps to produce more stable footage.
In terms of durability, the RS5 offers a battery life of up to 30 hours and supports fast charging that only takes about an hour to fully charge. It can also support a payload of up to 3 kilograms.
