Maybank is now informing its users that, effective January 27, 2026, all Maybank card users with Google Pay will be limited to a maximum amount of RM2,500 per transaction. For any transaction exceeding the aforementioned value, Maybank is asking users to use a physical card for the transaction.
At the same time, for purchases over RM250, users will no longer need to enter the card PIN number, thus further speeding up the transaction process using Google Pay.
Previously, CIMB had also done the same, asking users to use a physical card for transactions exceeding RM2,500 on Google Pay.
