Volvo Launches Locally Assembled ES90 Model Priced at RM339,888

Volvo once again strengthens its brand in the Malaysian market with the “safe” electric sedan, the ES90, a fully electric sedan that will be the brand’s new flagship model.

For your information, the Volvo ES90 is a full electric sedan that will join the locally assembled (CKD) vehicle lineup in Malaysia.

In terms of technology, the Volvo ES90 is built using an 800-volt architecture, making it one of the most advanced models in its segment. It supports DC fast charging of up to 350 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes, or adding around 300 kilometers of driving range in just 10 minutes.

In terms of performance, the Volvo ES90 is powered by an electric motor that produces up to 333 PS, equivalent to 329 hp and 480 Nm of torque, with a driving range of up to 651 kilometers (WLTP) on a full charge. Acceleration from 0-100km/h in around 6.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

In addition, this model is built on the SPA2 platform and is a completely software-based vehicle, supported by the Superset Tech stack that allows for over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

The interior of the ES90 comes with a modern minimalist approach, equipped with a large-sized infotainment screen as the main control center of the vehicle. A premium Bowers & Wilkins audio system is also offered, providing a more immersive sound experience.

In addition, the ES90 is also the first Volvo model to be equipped with the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin computing system, making it the most powerful Volvo in terms of processing capacity to date. This system forms the basis for next-generation safety technology, the integration of artificial intelligence, and data-based driving optimization.

At the same time, Volvo has also strengthened its focus on safety, in line with the brand identity synonymous with the protection of road users. Among Volvo's key innovations is the Three-Point Safety Belt, which was introduced in 1959.

Volvo also introduced Safe Space Technology, a comprehensive safety ecosystem that encompasses the chassis structure, active and passive technologies, and driver assistance systems that enable the vehicle to anticipate risks. Looking ahead, Volvo Car Malaysia is also introducing the Multi-Adaptive Safety Belt concept, which is seen as the next revolution in seat belt technology with the ability to adjust the level of protection according to the situation and passengers.

The Volvo ES90 is offered at a starting price of RM339,888. Volvo Car Malaysia is also offering an initial discount of 2% (around RM6,000) for the first 100 buyers, in addition to discounts of up to 8% for fleet purchases. You can start booking this electric car or visit your nearest Volvo branch.
