The era of artificial intelligence (AI) agents on smartphones has begun after Google announced that the agent feature for Google Gemini is now available for beta testing on Samsung Galaxy S26, Google Pixel 10 and Google Pixel 10 Pro devices.
With the AI agent, users only need to press the power button to summon Gemini before giving task instructions. For example, instruct Gemini to call a self-driving vehicle to return home. Gemini knows the frequently used apps and home addresses without the device owner giving additional instructions.
While the agent is performing the given instructions, the user can see the task being performed on the screen. At any time, the Take Control button can be pressed to take over the task that the agent is currently performing.
It can also purchase food and kitchen items based on user habits. Unfortunately for us in Malaysia, all these features can only be tested by users in the United States and South Korea with applications in the food, kitchen items and kitchen items categories.
