Previously, there were reports that Meta was developing a smartwatch codenamed Malibu 2. But this project was discontinued to focus on smart glasses. But this morning, a report from The Information emerged that said that Malibu 2 will be redeveloped and will be marketed this year.
The original project was stopped around 2022. When launched later, Malibu 2 will have health tracking capabilities and also support Meta AI virtual assistant. The smartwatch market is still dominated by Apple Watch and Meta is entering a market that is now filled with various smartwatch models.
