Bluepoint Games, the studio that developed the Demon’s Souls and Shadow of the Colossus remakes, will close in March 2026. Sony said the decision to close Bluepoint Games was made after conducting a recent business review. The studio’s closure comes five years after it was acquired to sit under the PlayStation Studios umbrella.
Bluepoint Games last released a game, Demon’s Souls 5, in 2020, with rumors that they were working on a new God of Wars game that was canceled last year. Bluepoint Games is another studio that has fallen victim to the changing landscape of the video game world.
Around 70 employees are affected by the closure of the Texas-based studio. It also scuttles the dreams of fans who wanted to see Bluepoint produce a Bloodborne remake.
