Last August, Google introduced a Calling Cards feature that allows individuals in their phone's address book to be given their own "calling cards" similar to Contact Poster on iOS. Device owners can set the images and text used for different individuals. When a phone call is received from them, this card will be displayed instead of the blank black screen that was previously displayed.
Today, this feature has been updated to allow Android owners to create their own Calling Cards designs. These Calling Cards designs will be automatically displayed on Android devices that receive phone calls automatically. To use this feature, the Phone by Google app must be used by default on the smartphone.
Calling Cards personalization options are limited at this time with only the image, text font and text color can be changed. This is in stark contrast to the Contact Poster name which allows image color, filter options and Memoji to be used.
