iPhone 18 Will Have a Smaller Dynamic Island

Starting with the large camera notch on the iPhone X, the Face ID system was later moved to the Dynamic Island via the iPhone 14 Pro. It is smaller than the notch but still large when compared to just the camera hole on Android devices.

This week, an image of the alleged screen panel for the iPhone 18 Pro leaked showing Apple managed to further shrink the Dynamic Island camera hole. It can be seen that it is now around 35% smaller, which was achieved by placing the TrueDepth camera under the screen. It is now more hidden like the UDC camera that Samsung introduced on the Z Fold device a few years ago.

The extent to which the above image is true will only be known when the iPhone 18 Pro is launched next September. What we do know is that the majority of iPhone users don't really care about the size of the Dynamic Island because they can just get by with it since the large notch was introduced.
