Meta has now confirmed that they have started a paid subscription feature for Instagram, called Instagram Plus, in several countries. Through this subscription support, Instagram Plus offers several additional features compared to free users.
Among the features offered is the ability to view a Story without the person sharing it knowing that you have seen it. This allows you to maintain additional privacy, and prevent other users from seeing that you have viewed their Stories.
In addition, Instagram Plus subscribers will be able to see how many people have re-viewed their Stories, in addition to creating more limited sharing groups in addition to Close Friends. Instagram Plus subscribers will also be able to extend selected Stories for a period of more than 24 hours.
For now, the full list of countries that Instagram Plus is being tested in is not yet known. This subscription is also seen to be different and separate from the already offered Meta Verified which gives a blue checkmark to user accounts.
With this offering, Meta is expected to diversify and increase their income, in addition to advertising on their platform.
