Apple App Store Offers Monthly Payment for One Year Subscription

A one-year subscription is usually offered at a lower price. Streaming platforms such as HBO Max and Disney+, for example, offer discounts of up to 40% if you subscribe for a year. But it requires a high upfront payment that is quite burdensome.

Today Apple announced a 12-month subscription but is paid monthly. With this, the cost of a one-year subscription is spread over a lower cost over 12 months. Customers will be reminded of how much time is left on the subscription and the payment commitment involved.

If they cancel a one-year subscription earlier than the agreed period, they will still have to pay for it until it runs out. Failure to pay the monthly commitment will result in the service no longer being accessible.

This feature is enabled for all users globally except in the United States and Singapore on devices using the operating system iOS 26.4, iPadOS 26.4, macOS Tahoe 26.4, tvOS 26.4, and visionOS 26.4 and above.
