Apple today introduced the Tap to Pay feature in Malaysia after more than four years of being offered in the United States. Through this feature, it allows merchants or sellers to use their iPhone to accept payments via Apple Pay or using credit/debit cards without the need for any additional physical terminal.
The feature can be used on iPhone 11 and above without having to rely on other platforms. During checkout, merchants will simply ask customers to hold their credit or debit card, iPhone, Apple Watch or other digital wallet near the merchant's iPhone, and the payment will be completed securely using NFC technology
Apple says it supports Apple Pay for payments, in addition to supporting debit or credit cards from American Express, JCB, Mastercard, MyDebit, UnionPay, and Visa. The platforms that support it in Malaysia are ADAPTIS, Fiuu, HitPay, Stripe, and Zoho.
Tap to Pay on iPhone will also soon be available on Apple The Exchange TRX. No additional hardware is required, so merchants can accept payments from wherever they do business
