In the early stages, electric cars (EVs) were marketed as environmentally friendly vehicles. No fossil fuel combustion and performance that is not comparable to cars with gasoline engines. That was then and now more and more EVs even in the SUV version have performance that beats an ICE racing car.
At the Beijing Auto Show, BYD launched the Denza Z with it being a luxury EV that offers high performance but is still able to accommodate four passengers. Unlike other EVs produced by BYD, the Denza Z will be marketed in Europe first with the official launch to be held at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event next July.
BYD is still keeping the full specifications of the Denza Z under wraps. The only information revealed is a motor with an output of over 1000 horsepower and the ability to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than two seconds. This puts it above the capabilities of the Tesla Roadster which was announced in 2017 but has not yet been officially launched.
In addition, it will use the latest Blade battery and Flash Charging 2.0 charging system allowing the battery to be fully charged in under 5 minutes. The Denza Z has already been tested on the Nürburgring circuit and is offered in three versions: standard, roofless and a special edition for track use.
