GoPro Mission 1 With 50MP 1″ Sensor and MFT Lens Mount Launched

GoPro is back with a new action camera that is equipped with a larger sensor than its competitors DJI Osmo Action 6 and Insta360 Ace Pro 2. All three models GoPro Mission 1, GoPro Mission 1 Pro and GoPro Mission 1 Pro ILS are equipped with a 50MP 1″ 4:3 sensor.

It is capable of recording video at 8Kp60 (16:9) and 8K Open Gate 30p (4:3) settings as well as 240 Mbps bit rate, 10-bit GP-Log2, HLG HDR and 96FPS slow motion recording capabilities. Recording capabilities at higher settings are only available on the GoPro Mission 1 Pro and GoPro Mission 1 Pro ILS models.

The photo recording capability is 50MP with full control over ISO, shutter, EV, and white balance. Photos also support 10-bit HLG HDR mode. In Q3 2026, the Mission 1 Pro ILS will be launched with this model equipped with a mount for MFT lenses. With this, owners can use their MFT digital camera lenses on the Mission 1 Pro ILS.

The MFT sensor used is matched with a GP3 processor which improves the stability of high-resolution recordings, good performance in low-light situations and better thermal management.

Because it is still an action camera, the Mission 1 Pro has waterproof capabilities up to 20 meters or up to 60 meters when paired with a diving shell. The buttons on the camera are also designed to be larger to make it easier to use even with gloves. There is a 2.59″ OLED screen on the back and a 1.4″ on the front.

Meanwhile, the new Enduro 2 battery has a 13% larger capacity, providing over 5 hours of recording at 1080p 16:9 24/25/30p settings, 101 minutes at 4K 120p settings and 74 minutes at 8K 60p settings with airflow.

While the GoPro Mission 1 Pro has been launched, there is still no price announcement due to unstable global memory prices.
