For WhatsApp Messenger users, you may already know that today it uses storage from iCloud or Google Drive to store duplicate copies. However, this is expected to change soon.
Through the development code seen by WABetaInfo on the WhatsApp application, Meta wants to introduce their own storage service soon. Under the offer, Meta wants to offer 2GB of storage for free, and users can make a paid subscription starting at 50GB and above.
Meta is expected to allow users to choose their storage space, whether using Google, Apple or Meta's own offering. As everyone knows, Meta's duplicate copies are stored in an encrypted form to ensure complete security.
At the moment, it is not known when Meta will introduce this storage subscription service. Previously, it was also said that Meta is looking at offering paid features for WhatsApp users, and this is seen as possibly being part of the offer.
