Microsoft Surface Prices Start to Increase Due to Global RAM Crisis

What was predicted and feared is now a reality. Microsoft has started raising the prices of all Surface PCs at the Microsoft Store in the United States, with it being an early sign that prices in other markets will also experience a similar increase.

The Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Pro 11 models are now up to $500 more expensive than their original launch prices two years ago. For example, the selling price of the 12-inch Surface Pro previously started at $799 but now starts at $1,049 each. The price increase can no longer be avoided due to the RAM shortage crisis that has hit the industry due to the high demand for artificial intelligence (AI) data centers.

Our survey of several online stores found that the selling prices of the Microsoft Surface series have started to increase by several local vendors. Surface is not sold through the Microsoft Store in Malaysia. If you want to buy a Surface, please do so now while the old stock is still available and it is sold at the original price.

Below is a list of the original prices of several Surface models when they were launched in Malaysia last year. Compare it with the current prices at several online stores of your choice.
