The issue with electric vehicles is that they are much more expensive than ICE. So when the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 was launched yesterday, it solved this issue by selling it at an affordable price. The Flying Flea C6 is the first electric motorcycle produced by this Indian-based motorcycle company.
It is equipped with a 15.4 kW PMSM motor and 60 Nm torque that gives a maximum speed of 115 km/h. The battery is only as large as The battery capacity of 3.91 kWh gives a travel range of up to 154 km (IDC). The full charging time is only 2 hours. Because of its small battery, the Flying Flea C6 weighs only 124 kg. The performance of this motorcycle is not high because it is designed as an alternative to sub-350cc motorcycles in India.
It comes with a 3.5″ TFT round touchscreen display with Google Maps built in. There are also ABS features, different riding modes and traction control. In fact, there is a wireless phone charger on the handle.
What is interesting, as mentioned above, is the price. In India, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 is sold at a starting price of ₹199,000 (~RM11,350) for a battery-only model or ₹279,000 (~RM15,900) for a full purchase. Royal Enfield says this EV will be launched in the global market in the future.
