Acer joins the PC mobile console world with the launch of the Acer Predator Atlas 8 yesterday. The console comes with an 8″ WUXGA, 120 Hz, 16:10, 500 nit screen, VRR support, Gorilla Glass Victus + DXC for durability and reduced glare. This is matched with up to Intel Arc G3 Extreme cups that are specifically designed to reduce battery consumption on mobile consoles.
It is also equipped with up to Intel Arc B390 GPUs that can perform ray tracing and support XeSS 3 for graphics upgrades using artificial intelligence (AI). Memory is up to 24 GB LPDDR5x RAM and storage is up to 1 TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD (2280).
There are two analog control buttons, one D-pad button, four face buttons, two macro buttons, four shoulder buttons. The two L2 and R2 buttons use hall effect switches while the trigger level can be adjusted according to the game. Dedicated buttons for XBOX Game Bar Widget and PredatorSense are also included. A fingerprint scanner is placed on the power button.
The audio system consists of two 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra. Meanwhile, the battery is up to 80 Wh that supports Intel Endurance Gaming technology to balance power with long battery life.
The cooling system is the Predator AeroBlade consisting of two metal fans that increase the airflow rate by up to 10% compared to plastic fans. There are two Thunderbolt 4 connections to support accessories such as monitors and fast storage. UHS-II microSD cards can also be used to add storage. In addition, it is equipped with an audio jack, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The Acer Predator Atlas 8 will be sold in North America, EMEA, and Australia starting October 2026 with specifications and prices that will be offered have not yet been announced.
