At Google I/O 2026, Google said that we have entered the era of artificial intelligence (AI) agents that take over various tasks that were previously performed manually by humans. To support this era of agents, the new Gemini 3.5 model has been launched.
Gemini 3.5 combines pioneering intelligence with the ability of agents to perform more complex tasks on a larger scale than previous models. The two models announced this morning are Gemini 3.5 Flash and Gemini 3.5 Pro.
Gemini 3.5 Flash is already being used in Gemini starting today and Google Search while Gemini 3.5 Pro is being used internally and will be launched next month.
According to Google, Gemini 3.5 Flash rivals larger AI models but works more than 4 times faster. In benchmark tests that have been conducted, Gemini 3.5 Flash outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro. Gemini 3.5 can perform tasks such as application development, code maintenance, financial audits, and complex process automation.
Starting today, Gemini 3.5 Flash 3.5 Flash is accessible through the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search, Google Antigravity, Gemini API, Google AI Studio, and Google Android Studio
