The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has immediately suspended all online vehicle transfer transactions eSerahan Tukar Milik (eSTM) starting today, May 25, 2026, involving all digital channels including public portals, kiosks, MyEG and eAuto. The only exception is the Temporary Transfer System (STMS) which is still operating under eAuto.
The sudden action was taken after JPJ received official complaints and on social media about cases of vehicle ownership being transferred without the owner's permission. JPJ considers this issue serious because it involves vehicle safety and maintenance records.
The JPJ also emphasized the importance of the integrity of vehicle records in their system. Starting today, all transfer transactions are now mandatory at the JPJ counter. For individual owners, the transfer process can be done on the same day at state JPJ offices and branches. Meanwhile, for transfers by private companies, the verification and approval process takes 5–7 working days after complete documents have been received.
