After a long time of teasing, yesterday the Sony 1000X the Collexion headphones were officially launched. Because it was produced in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Sony 1000XM series, the Sony 1000X the Collexion comes with various more premium features.
The focus is on a more luxurious design, comfort when wearing, and better sound quality than the previous 1000XM headphones. The headband and headband are made of metal and no longer plastic to look more luxurious and more durable. The finish is now no longer plastic but vegan leather.
The headband is larger and the cushion is also 40% thicker for long-term comfort. All control buttons are also now made of metal. The ear cups are slightly thinner than the XM6 but the sponge is softer.
Because of the more premium material and metal, the 1000X the Collexion is also not foldable like the XM5. This makes the storage case also larger but has its own handle section. It closes using magnets just like the previous XM6.
Like there is ANC support, V3 audio processor, DSEE Ultimate and spatial audio for video games, music and cinema mode. The included battery lasts 24 hours with ANC and is shorter than the 30 hours on the XM6. Audio support is Bluetooth 5.3 with LDC and a 3.5mm audio cable and USB-C when needed.
Sony 1000X the Collexion can be purchased in Malaysia today in Platinum and Black colors at a price of RM 2799 which is more premium compared to RM 1999 for the Sony WH-1000XM6.
