Microsoft Scout Is an AI Agent Built on OpenClaw Specifically for the Enterprise

Microsoft Scout was announced at Build this morning, along with Autopilot. Autopilot is Microsoft’s name for a new class of AI agents that are always working in the background to fulfill instructions.

Scout is the first Autopilot to launch with the ability to operate across Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, email, calendar, chat, and more. Users interact with Scout in Teams using everyday conversational language. It then performs the assigned tasks until they are completed.

It can reduce daily workloads, schedule meetings, mark important meetings, and generate necessary prep materials like slides and documents. It learns the Work IQ user’s work habits before building context and priorities over time. It can block calendar dates in advance and without instructions by looking at work that needs to be done and the user’s personal schedule.

The system is built on OpenClaw open source technology and is built with enterprise-grade security systems complete with organizational controls to prevent vulnerabilities from occurring. For example, access is only granted to approved resources while confidential actions require human approval.

Microsoft internal employees have been using Scout in testing and it is now open to select customers through a closed preview of Frontier. In addition to Microsoft, Meta also developed an OpenClaw-based AI agent last month that is also being tested by employees.
