After launching the Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra a few days ago with the NVIDIA RXT Spark chip, this morning the Microsoft Surface RTX Spark Dev Box was also launched as a PC for local artificial intelligence (AI) developers.
It has a compact design for developers who want to build, prototype and train AI models without relying on the cloud while controlling the cost of accessing the required AI computing power
The RTX Spark chip used combined with 128GB of RAM integrated memory allows models with 120 billion parameters and 1 million token contexts to be run directly on a machine.
The operating system used is Windows 11 Pro. Although developed as a desktop AI computer, it can also run various modern video games and creative work because it is equipped with an RTX 5070-equivalent GPU with over 6000 CUDA cores.
The Microsoft Surface Laptop Ultra will go on sale in the United States first at the end of 2026 but the price has not yet been announced.
