Telegram is now adding a new feature to polls by allowing each option to include a link. Previously, polls were free enough to function as their own voting app. With links, each option can be given additional context or direct references to make the poll clearer.
Steps to use it:
Open Telegram and go to the group, channel, or chat where you want to create a poll.
Tap the attachment icon or the three-dot menu (⋮) then select “Create Poll”.
Enter the poll question as usual.
In the answer options section, type the text of the option (for example, Kuala Lumpur).
Tap the link icon next to the answer option to add the URL.
Repeat this step for each option you want to include a link.
Choose additional settings such as Anonymous Poll, Multiple Answers or Quiz Mode if necessary.
Press Send to send the poll to the chat.
The important thing here is that users need to make sure the Telegram app is updated to the latest version whether on Android, iOS or Desktop as this feature is only available after the latest update. The entered link will appear with a chain icon next to the answer option so that participants can easily identify it. In addition, users can add links to any legitimate website, but they must avoid dangerous content.
In the same development, Telegram also introduced new applications for Apple Watch and Android Wear OS. This was shared by us in a previous news update, but this time it was officially confirmed through Telegram's own blog. Through this application, users can check chats and media and read long messages without having to hold the phone.
Users are free to listen to voice messages and watch videos and can even send text messages or voice messages if their hands are busy. At the same time, Android developers added the function of muting, pinning chats and deleting messages while iOS developers added the function of viewing location and sending stickers. Although this difference seems a bit awkward, Telegram explained that both teams will share these features in the next update.
