WhatsApp is developing a paid subscription plan called Meta One that can be accessed directly through the Android app. Meta One is a new service from Meta that combines all the premium features from their main platform into a single package.
With a single subscription, users can enjoy premium benefits across WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Meta AI without having to subscribe separately. It also comes in addition to the existing WhatsApp Plus plan.
Two Meta One subscription plans are currently offered by WhatsApp. The first plan is Meta One Plus which costs €6.99 (~RM33) per month and includes a one-month free trial. It focuses on the Meta AI experience by providing a larger monthly AI quota, smarter analysis capabilities and additional tools for creating images and videos, while also including WhatsApp Plus.
Meanwhile, Meta One Premium costs €20.99 (~RM99) per month and may also offer a one-month free trial. This plan offers higher capabilities for complex processing, as well as providing more image and video credits and broader monthly AI access. Simply put, Meta One Premium is a subscription plan aimed at users who want the best AI performance.
WhatsApp now has a Subscriptions section at the top of the app settings for users who subscribe to WhatsApp Plus. For now, it is only used to manage WhatsApp Plus subscriptions. However, in the future, WhatsApp will directly add the Meta One Plus and Meta One Premium plans to this section.
Going forward, Meta One Plus, Meta One Premium and WhatsApp Plus are just additional options. WhatsApp remains free for all users, whether they subscribe or not. Basic functions such as messages, calls and privacy features remain the same for everyone. It is easy to say that this subscription plan does not change the regular user experience, it just adds premium features for those who want them.
Currently, this Meta One subscription is still in development. WhatsApp has also not yet announced an official launch date.
