Windows 10 Support Extended for Another Year to October 2027

On October 14, 2025, support for Windows 10 was officially ended by Microsoft. PCs with Windows 10 can still be used as usual but will no longer receive any new feature updates or security patches. Microsoft simply said that only security updates will be provided until October 13, 2026. But this morning Microsoft officially said that Windows 10 ESU (Extended Security Updates) support will be extended until October 12, 2027.

Users with equipment that meets the minimum qualifications are encouraged to upgrade the operating system to Windows 11 immediately. Windows 10 PC owners will have to pay $30 dollars or receive a free update by backing up files to OneDrive or redeeming using 1000 Microsoft Points. All this can be done via Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > Enroll now .

Microsoft's decision to end support for Windows 10 has previously received criticism because around 41% of PCs in the world are still using the operating system that was launched more than 10 years ago.
