Apple has now filed a lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging that OpenAI stole its trade secrets from former employees.
Apple said its team often develops new technologies and innovations for the world’s best products and services, and protecting their work is a top priority. They have found sufficient evidence, stating that an employee of OpenAI misappropriated and took secrets and information about technologies that have not yet been released to OpenAI.
Apple stressed that they will take all appropriate steps to protect their team’s work and efforts, including the innovations they developed. Several things Apple is accused of doing by OpenAI that violate various things, including asking people who were interviewed for employment with OpenAI to bring information and technical documents from Apple, as well as deceiving Apple’s partners to access product packaging technology.
Apple also said that they have contacted OpenAI about this matter, and asked OpenAI to investigate it. However, OpenAI has not provided any response to Apple.
Despite this lawsuit being filed, it is said that Apple and OpenAI's collaboration to integrate ChatGPT into Apple products was not affected by this.
