Geely Auto Group has introduced a new drive system that achieves an energy efficiency of 93.8%. This is achieved by integrating 16 core functions of the EV drive system into a single unit weighing only 75 kg and 12.8″ high. All major modules are integrated into one unit, which reduces energy loss, reduces weight and saves interior space.
In a test at Qinghai Lake, the Geely Galaxy TT equipped with the 16-in-1 Intelligent Electric Drive system recorded a power consumption of 8.20 kWh/100 km. The system also supports a dual-motor AWD configuration that reaches 570 HP, enabling acceleration from 0–100 km/h in 3.8 seconds.
The first car to use this new drive system is the Geely Galaxy TT, which will go on sale in August. Because Geely owns several leading car brands such as Volvo and Proton, it is possible that this technology will be adopted by other brands under their umbrella.
