Google Hits Record High Searches During 2026 FIFA World Cup Featuring Argentina and Egypt

Google Search is still the go-to place for many people to search and reference, and it can be said that Google dominates search with a search engine market share of over 90% – not to mention its direct integration with Chrome.

Most recently, Google shared that this week, Google search hit a record high usage, breaking various previous records during the 2026 FIFA World Cup featuring Argentina and Egypt. However, Google did not say how many searches occurred during and after the tournament.

With this new record, it is seen that Google is targeting higher searches during the semi-finals and finals of the tournament.
