Google launched the Nano Banana 2 Lite generative artificial intelligence (AI) model today, which can generate an image in just 4 seconds compared to around 16 seconds required by the Nano Banana 2.
The Nano Banana 2 Lite was launched as a tool for generating concept images or rapid prototypes that do not require high quality and detail at a low cost. In a demo shared by Google, in 60 seconds the Nano Banana 2 Lite can generate up to 21 images in 60 seconds using the same prompt. Meanwhile, the Nano Banana 2 can only generate 3 images in the same period of time.
The Nano Banana 2 Lite is already accessible to customers through Google AI Studio, Gemini API and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. At the same time, it has also been used in the AI Mode system in Search, Gemini applications and various other platforms under the Google umbrella.
