Huawei MatePad Air (2026) is the latest tablet from Huawei that has just been announced. It is not just an entertainment device, but is described as a smart tablet with PC-level productivity capabilities.
Huawei also emphasized several design changes on the MatePad Air (2026) including smaller bezels, a thin body of 5.3 mm, and new color options. Another notable change is the use of the PaperMatte OLED Display, which was previously only available on the premium MatePad Pro series. However, the screen is still 12 inches with a refresh rate of 144 Hz.
Also complementing it is the M‑Pencil Pro smart stylus with voice transcription functions, automatic note updates, and controls such as air mouse mode for presentations. It also supports the WPS Office AI ecosystem (Word, PPT, Excel) for generating drafts, presentations, and data analysis. The audio system also comes with six crossover-shaped speakers to provide a more immersive sound experience.
It is also equipped with a 10,100 mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging. The camera section consists of a 12MP front camera for video calls while on the back there is a 50MP camera. The selling price starts at €849 (RM 3,943) and Huawei says it will arrive in Malaysia on a date to be announced later.
