Lenovo recently introduced their latest gaming laptop, the Lenovo Legion 9000P, which consists of two model offerings, the Lenovo Legion Y9000P powered by Intel processing chips and the Lenovo Legion R9000P powered by AMD processing chips.
However, what is really interesting about this laptop series is the 16-inch screen display used, which features the latest IJP (Ink Jet Printed) OLED panel on the market produced by display panel manufacturer TCL China Star Optoelectronics Technology (TCL CSOT).
As the name suggests, this IJP OLED panel uses a printing process to print red, green and blue (RGB) LEDs directly on the panel surface, compared to the "traditional" method of spraying the material using a stencil technique. The IJP process sprays the material directly onto the panel surface, reducing material waste by 70 percent.
Meanwhile, the parallel arrangement of RGB stripes instead of diamond or triangular shapes promises much sharper color and small text processing and allows this display to be much brighter without the need for a more powerful light source.
In terms of other display specifications, this screen can also come with a high resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate and can process 99 percent of the DCI-P3 color gamut. TCL CSOT confirmed that this display has technically been introduced since 2024 in China, but is now ready to be used for laptop devices and other displays outside the country.
