ASUS ROG is a brand known for their various gaming offerings, from gaming laptops, desktop computer components, gaming accessories and also audio offerings. Speaking of audio offerings, ASUS ROG has shown their first offering in the speaker segment with the ASUS ROG Gjallar Gaming Soundbar.
ROG Gjallar comes with a 2.1.2 speaker design which comes with one speaker on the left and right sides, a subwoofer component and also two sets of speakers called overhead speakers where these two additional satellites are directed towards the ceiling surface to give users a surround sound audio experience.
In terms of connectivity, this speaker comes with support for USB Type-C, HDMI 2.1 (e-Arc), optical, aux wired connections and for wireless connections, it supports Bluetooth 5.3 connections. Interestingly, this speaker also comes with a built-in microphone system equipped with an AEC system that helps cancel out noise for more accurate and quality voice input and sound output.
In terms of hardware support, ASUS says that the ROG Gjallar speaker supports a variety of gaming consoles, including Sony PlayStation consoles, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, PC mobile consoles and others.
Offered with this speaker is the All In One Audio Control Hub accessory. With this accessory, users can change the audio output connection of various different devices, in addition to other features such as changing audio volume, equalizer settings or muting the microphone all quickly and easily.
ASUS also says that the HDMI 2.1 e-Arc connection supports connection to screen displays with a resolution and refresh rate of 4K120Hz. Two USB 2.1 Type-A plugs are located on the side of this speaker to support wireless connection of gaming accessories such as keyboards and mice that use a WiFi connection to connect to the computer.
For now, the price tag and release date for the ASUS ROG Gjallar speaker are still unknown.
