Last week, a small number of Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra owners reported that the screen displayed red spots in certain situations. The issue was only reported by Ultra owners, indicating that it may be related to the Privacy Display technology used on this device.
Samsung Korea has issued an official statement that they are aware of the issue affecting Galaxy S26 Ultra buyers. They say that it is not a burn-in issue that plagues the OLED panel but rather a software issue. It has to do with the sensor detecting the ambient light level causing the panel to appear reddish. The issue can be resolved through a software update that will be provided later.
There is no date when this update will be received by owners. Samsung often provides updates once a month which is faster than other manufacturers including Google. So far, we have not seen this issue raised by Galaxy S26 Ultra owners in Malaysia.
