Amazon has been found to be buying a large number of rare books and using them to train their AI models. In the process, the rare books are deleted.
The rare books purchased are cut at the edges, and then each page is scanned, and the text is used to train AI models. As many are aware, a large number of rare books are no longer in digital form today, causing artificial intelligence model developers to use methods to scan and delete the books to train their models.
Amazon simply said that they buy the books through commercial channels in order to improve the products and services used by their customers.
Various AI companies are now looking at alternative methods to find material for the purpose of training their respective models to remain smart and have their own uniqueness. Several companies are ready to do the same, leading to the loss of a large number of rare books on the market today.
