Today, there are various variations of domain names with different suffixes on the market, including .tech, .art, .new, .pizza and so on. In order to get its own uniqueness, Telegram founders have now stated that they have applied to ICANN to get a domain name with the .gram suffix.
If approved, Telegram aims for all of their users – which is one billion plus, to have their own domain name. This is also expected to be not only an identity, but also allow users to create their own interactive websites and host them through Telegram.
At the moment, it is not known how long the approval process for the domain name will take, before it can be integrated by Telegram for further development.
