These Are AirPods With a Camera That Supports Visual Intelligence

Apple has reportedly been developing AirPods with a built-in camera since last year. With a built-in camera, it will work like the Meta smart glasses but will be harder to detect. Yesterday, a video was found in macOS Tahoe 26.7 RC that shows what these camera-equipped AirPods look like and how they work.

Users just need to give voice commands to SIri and Visual Intelligence can identify the object being held. At first glance, these AirPods look like regular AirPods Pro. The location of the camera is known because it cannot be seen in the image above.

In previous reports, the camera on the AirPods cannot take photos or record videos like the Ray-Ban Meta. It is only activated to identify objects held or calculate the number of calories eaten.

All this is done to avoid privacy issues associated with smart glasses. AirPods with a camera are expected to be launched in 2027 in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.
