Your Android Application Error Today? Try It This Way

A number of Android users have reported that some apps on their mobile phones are suddenly destroyed and unusable. Luckily there is a fairly simple solution.
Some applications reportedly unable to open include Gmail, Google, Yahoo Mail and others. The problem started with Android constantly issuing a warning that the app ‘kept closing’.

Applications that are not currently open are also affected. Google already knows the cause of this crash was due to a problem with the Android WebView System and they are working on it.

"We are aware of a problem with WebView that is causing some applications on Android to crash," a Google spokesperson was quoted as saying by the Android Authority on Tuesday (23/3/2021).

“We are working to fully validate the coverage and improvements are being made,” he added.

This bug appears to affect all Android applications that use WebView system components. Google appears to be releasing an inappropriate update for WebView, causing Android apps to crash.

Some Android users find a way out of this problem by uninstalling the latest WebView update or uninstalling WebView from the phone. Samsung’s US Twitter account also recommends this method.

To remove this update, open the Google Play Store then go to My Apps & games. On the Installed tab, find the Android System WebView app.

Then click Uninstall and confirm again by clicking Uninstall. Restart your Android device for optimal results.

If the above method doesn’t work, go to the Settings app on your Android phone, then select Apps & notifications. Find the Android System WebView app and click the three dots in the upper right corner. Click Uninstall update and then click OK.

Don't forget to reinstall the latest version of WebView if Google has resolved the issue. This is an important component that allows an application to display web pages.

Meanwhile, Google also found out about problems with Gmail on Android. Alphabet’s subsidiary advises users to access Gmail via desktop.
