Google Messages Will Automatically Delete OTP Messages

There are some services that use a messaging system that contains an OTP code or a one-time password which is usually a six-digit number to the user via SMS or email.

This OTP code is a form of confirmation when users want to register or log in to an account from the application.

Well, often SMS containing this OTP accumulates in the inbox where the user usually forgets to delete the message.

But for you Google Messages users, you don't have to bother deleting it because there is an automatic feature that can delete this OTP message.

Among the new features that Google will roll out to the messaging app in India is the automatic deletion of OTP SMS after a certain period of time or especially after 24 hours.

Google has also announced that the application will use machine learning that will automatically organize user messages into categories.

Google messages will be classified into private messages, transactions, OTPs, and offers that make it easier for users to find specific messages.

Unfortunately, these features will only start rolling out to Indian users only with devices based on Android 8 and above and in the coming weeks in English.

Google insists that this feature is optional and users can turn it off. No word yet on when this feature will be available for other regions.
