The look of WhatsApp for Android over the last few years has not changed much. But soon WhatsApp users will be presented with a new look that is actually not much different from the current look of WhatsApp.
This new look of WhatsApp was discovered by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.18.1. Currently, the new look can be enjoyed by users registered in the WhatsApp beta program.
WABetaInfo reports that the new look of WhatsApp only changes some colors in the application. So there is no such drastic change in appearance.
The most visible color changes are on the chat screen. For example, the color of the chat bubble (in both dark and light modes), the Send button, and the background color in the status bar look different.
For bright mode, WhatsApp also changes the color in the navigation bar at the top of the app to a brighter green, as quoted from WABetaInfo, Tuesday (24/8/2021).
Some other application elements will also have new colors. Like a circle around your profile photo in Status, a darker -looking wallpaper, and a new icon for share sheets in chat.
Although new to a handful of beta users, this new look of WhatsApp has already received a diverse response from users. Some are happy to welcome a fresher new look, but others complain that text in chat is harder to read.
"Text visibility is very low :(," said a WhatsApp user @Shash_shetty25 on Twitter.
"I don't like this new green. @WhatsApp go back to the old green or lower the brightness level of this new green," Twitter user @_superspeedo said.
"The changes aren't too big for me to notice ... need drastic changes ... especially chat bubbles, colors and icons," said Twitter user @tommiee05.
Fortunately, this new WhatsApp look update is still in the beta testing phase. So WhatsApp still has time to listen to user feedback and change it before this new look is rolled out more widely.
This Facebook application must be careful not to repeat the mistakes made by Twitter. The new design and letters launched by Twitter recently have been complained about by users because it makes the eyes dizzy.
