TikTok Uji Cuba Feature Stories, Follow Instagram

Recently, TikTok’s short video feature has been widely imitated by other social media platforms. But now it’s TikTok’s turn to use another social media hero feature, Stories.
The Story feature on TikTok was first reported by social media consultant Matt Navarra. He initially received a lot of screenshots about TikTok Stories, but wasn’t sure if the screenshots were fake or not.

TikTok later confirmed that they have been trying out the Story feature in certain countries over the past few days. This feature will complement previous TikTok’s flagship features such as Duets, Stitch and Live.

TikTok did not say how long this trial will run and whether it will be launched publicly soon. The experiment was launched in several countries outside the United States, but TikTok did not say which countries could try the feature.

From screenshots and videos shared by Navarra on Twitter, it can be seen that the way TikTok Stories works is similar to the Stories feature on other platforms. The story content on TikTok will also disappear automatically within 24 hours.

Users can create Stories in TikTok by accessing the camera button in the new navigation bar on the left side of the screen. TikTok also provides several tools for editing Stories, such as adding text and stickers, music, and video effects.

What distinguishes TikTok Stories from similar features is the option for other users to leave comments about the creator -made Stories. These comments are displayed publicly and users who ‘interact’ with each other can see each other’s comments.

Next to the comments tab there is also a tab that displays a list of users who viewed the Creator Story. In addition to the names in the register, there is also a follow button that makes it easy for creators to follow other users ’accounts, as quoted from TechCrunch, Thursday (5/8/2021).

To view Stories from other creators they follow, TikTok users can scroll through the new navigation bar and click on an existing creator’s avatar to view its content. The concept is similar to the Story column on Instagram, but its shape is vertical instead of horizontal.

TikTok’s decision to try out the Stories feature isn’t surprising, as they are now one of the major social media platforms that don’t yet have that feature. The Story feature itself was first introduced by Snapchat, before being imitated by Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others.

But not all social media manages to bring Story style features to their platforms. Mention Twitter, which recently turned off features like their Story called Armada just eight months after launch for not performing well.
