Jack Ma has been out of public for about 10 months after criticizing China's financial system. Now Vicky Zhao's turn to be suppressed by the Chinese government so that no longer his name or work on the country's internet. There is speculation that one of the reasons Zhao was banned was his relationship with the founder of Alibaba.
There is no official explanation as to why Vicky Zhao or Zhao Wei were censored from cyberspace. Authorities may be conducting an investigation. Speculation has sprung up, for example investing with her husband is against the law, worshiping Japan which is 'unlawful' in China, to being close to Jack Ma.
Vicky Zhao has tax issues "related to his close relationship with Jack Ma".
Apart from being an actress, Zhao is also a businessman. She built a fortune by investing in various companies, including the film studio Alibaba Pictures in late 2014. In 2015, her husband Huang Youlong also partnered with Jack Ma in business.
If the IPO of Ant Group founded by Jack Ma was not canceled by the Chinese government, Vicky Zhao's family would be even richer. This is because Zhao's mother is a shareholder of a private equity company that invested in Ant in 2016.
Zhao himself did meet several times with Jack Ma at official events. Even a few years ago there were rumors about their relationship which Jack Ma denied.
"I think I met him at least five times and that was only when we attended the same charity event," Ma said in 2016.
Jack Ma felt the need for clarification because there were gossiping as if they were always together. "I was wondering why we were linked to each other. I don't understand," he said, adding that someone had manipulated his photo with Vicky Zhao so that they seemed to be together often.
