Amazon owner and world's richest man, Jeff Bezos, allegedly wants to slow down aging or if possible, live forever. He reportedly invested in a start-up company called Altos Lab that is pursuing that ambition. Netizens were also busy discussing it.
Previously, Bezos has also invested in Unity Biotechnology, a company that is looking for drugs to fight aging. Maybe Bezos wants to live longer to innovate or enjoy his vast fortune.
"This technology will not help all mankind to live forever, only those who are super rich and powerful," said a netizen in the Daily Mail's comment column, Monday (13/9/2021).
"Technology like this is against nature. If you are a super rich person, maybe you really want to live longer. But I personally would rather die than be trapped in an old body," said another.
"Jeff Bezos is so scared to leave his billions of dollars and his luxurious life. He can't avoid it, death will come to them like we all experience," wrote another.
"Absolutely wrong and unnatural, it can even be dangerous. Just because you can, doesn't mean you have to. It can keep dictators in power. We weren't designed to live forever and people who want it are crazy," reads another posted.
"Bezos uses his wealth for the good of mankind while making money. Then why? We all want to live forever," said a voice that somewhat agreed with Bezos' wish.
"Eternal life is only a matter of time. Good luck Jeff Bezos. Humanity needs this if it wants to explore the stars," said another netizen.
