Until now, it is not known for sure who the creator of Bitcoin, the figure known as Satoshi Nakamoto. Well, Elon Musk claims to have the answer to the Bitcoin mystery.
Satoshi Nakamoto's identity is very mysterious, he only gives a relic in the form of writing. He stated that writing the Bitcoin code began in 2007. Then in August 2008, he was said to have registered the bitcoin.org domain. January 2009, Nakamoto released version 0.1 of the Bitcoin software.
He continued to contribute to Bitcoin software releases until his contact with the team and community dwindled in 2010. Several figures have already been named as him, but nothing has really been confirmed.
Now in a recent podcast interview, Elon Musk said that to find out who Satoshi Nakamoto was, you could trace who wrote the idea before Bitcoin was released.
"Well, you can look at the evolution of these ideas before the launch of Bitcoin and see who wrote about the idea," he said as quoted by us from Futurism as reported on Friday (12/31/2021).
"Well it looks like Nick Szabo is likely, more than anyone else, responsible for the evolution of these ideas," added the Tesla and SpaceX boss.
Who is Nick Szabo? He is a computer scientist and cryptographer who helped develop an early form of cryptocurrency called bit gold.
Although his creation ultimately did not succeed in becoming popular, many considered it the forerunner of Bitcoin. The technology he initiated is also used as the foundation of the Ethereum blockchain.
So it's not surprising that many speculate that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, the originator of Bitcoin. However, he has long denied the allegations. "I'm not Satoshi," he argued in a 2017 New York Times interview.
