Released at CES 2022, Asus ROG Flow Z13 can be installed with Nvidia RTX 3080

Gaming tablets are not a common device, especially for the Windows platform. At CES 2022, Asus introduced its gaming tablet called ROG Flow Z13.

The ROG Flow Z13 is a 13.4-inch tablet that comes with a kickstand, and makes it a convertible laptop with a keyboard cover, as quoted by The Verge.

The shape may be a tablet, but the default specs are fairly fierce. The processor is Intel Core i9-12900H 45W and Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti 40W, and the CPU and GPU duo are housed in a 12mm thick tablet.

Not only that, because it carries a similar name, this tablet also has the superior feature of the Flow X13, namely being able to connect to an external GPU with much faster performance, namely the RTX 3080 or Radeon RX 6850 XT using Asus' special plug.

There are two screen options, namely 1080p IPS with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 100% sRGB coverage with a brightness level of 500 nits. But there's also a 4K IPS 60Hz option and a DCI-P3 85% color coverage with a brightness level of 450 nits.

Both are touch screens with a 16:10 ratio and are also coated with Gorilla Glass, also validated by Pantone for color accuracy. Although Asus hasn't revealed the price yet, don't expect this device to be cheap.

The reason is that the ROG Flow X13 and XG Mobile eGPU released in 2021 were sold at a fairly good price, which reached USD 3,300 or around Rp. 47 million.

OLED Gaming Monitor

Asus also showcased its newest gaming monitor, the ROG Swift OLED, which is available in 42-inch (PG42UQ) and 48-inch (PG48UQ) sizes. The 48-inch variant may not be new in the realm of gaming, but a 42-inch OLED monitor or TV will only be available in 2022.

LG has previously released a C2 series OLED TV which is also available in this size, and Asus seems to be the first company to release a monitor of this size.

The PG42UQ, like the 48-inch variant, has 4K resolution, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 0.1ms response time, 120Hz refresh rate, 10bit color, and 98% DCI-P3 color coverage. This HDR10-enabled monitor has two HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0, a DisplayPort, audio input, and a USB hub.
