Samsung introduced a portable projector and a smart speaker and lighting at the CES 2022 event. This is the Freestyle.
Ahead of the Event Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in Las Vegas, USA, Samsung launched The Freestyle on Wednesday (5/1/2022). For the first time the projector is combined with the Smart Speaker and Ambient Lighting.
The freestyle offers the first technology in its type and flexibility to present the experience of watching and enjoying optimal entertainment. Users can carry video and audio content wherever they go.
Designed for Z and Millennial genes, The Freestyle is packed lightly and portable. The freestyle weights are only 830 grams so it is very portable and easily able to change any area into a screen.
Unlike static conventional projectors, The Freestyle has a flexible holder that allows rotation up to 180 degrees. Users can display high-quality videos wherever good walls, tables, floors or ceilings without requiring additional separate screens.
"The Freestyle is a unique projector designed for high versatility and flexibility, to meet the lifestyle of consumers who keep changing," said Simon Sung, Executive Vice President and Head of the Sales & Marketing Team of the Visual Display Business Samsung Electronics.
The Freestyle is equipped with a complete auto keystone and auto leveling feature that is possible through leading technology in the industry. These features allow the device to adjust the screen automatically to any surface of any angle, resulting in a truly proportional image at any time.
"Without being limited by space and form factors, the freestyle is a fun and versatile device that can be used in any way the users selected," he said.
The auto focus feature makes The Freestyle able to display clear images on any surface, from any angle, with a screen size to reach 100 inches. The freestyle is also equipped with a dual passive radiator which is to produce a clear and deeper bass sound without distortion, and with a 360 degree vote of the user will enjoy a cinema class audio experience wherever they are.
To turn on this device, The Freestyle is compatible with external batteries that support USB-PD and 50W / 20W or higher output. This tiny projector can be taken by camper or other activities.
The freestyle also becomes a pioneer as the first projector that can light up when connected to the standard E26 lamp socket without additional wiring, in addition to compatible with conventional contact contacts options.
When not used as a projector for streaming content, The Freestyle can present the lighting effect (moodlight), thanks to the presence of ambient mode and cover of the translucent lens. The freestyle is also a smart speaker, which is able to analyze music to be paired with visual effects that can be projected to walls, floors, and wherever.
The Freestyle offers Smart TV features available on Samsung Smart TV, with built-in streaming services and features to do mirroring and casting compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices. The Freestyle is the first portable projector in the industry that has been certified by the main Global OTT partners, so users can enjoy the best content easily.
This device is also the first projector equipped with FAR-Field sound control, where users can choose favorite voice assistants to control this device by hands-free.
The Freestyle will be exhibited during the implementation of CES 2022 on January 5-7 2022 and will be available for online pre-orders in the United States on January 4, 2022. The availability of this device will be extended to other global markets in the following months.
