The iPhone 15 will have a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera feature

The new iPhone 14 will be launched this year's fall. But rumors about the iPhone 15 planned to release 2023 have sprung up.

This rumor comes from Jeff PU analyst from the GF Securities and Haitong International Securities Group. PU said the iPhone 15 will come with a periscope lens that offers an optical zoom up to 10x, as quoted from Tom's Guide on Wednesday (5/1/2022).

PU does not explain whether this feature will only be available on the iPhone 15 pro alone or for all iPhone 15 variants. Rumors about the periscope lens feature for the iPhone 15 are also actually not new considering analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts the same thing last March.

Based on Apple Track data, sites that record the accuracy and consistency of apple product leaks, PU currently has an accuracy rate of 62.5% of 13 rumors. The track record is not so consistent when compared to Kuo or Bloomberg Mark Gurman journalist.

The periscop lens itself has become a feature commonly found on the Flagship class Android phone. Some cellphones that have brought this camera include the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Huawei P40 Pro +, and Google Pixel 6 Pro.

The periscope lens, as used on Galaxy S21 Ultra, stacked the glass horizontally rather than vertically. With a sloping mirror, this system can cram the extra zoom lens without increasing the thickness of the cellphone because the glass is arranged vertically following the device.

If this rumor is true, then Apple will be the latest vendor that carries the periscop lens technology. But because it will only be introduced in 2023, it cannot be denied that they are a bit left behind.

Although still very early, information about the iPhone 15 has sticked out several times. Previously, rumors from the site from Brazilian Blog Do iPhone claimed that the iPhone 15 would take off the SIM card slot.
