Take Two Interactive Acquires Zynga USD 12.7 billio

 


The parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, has announced a major acquisition of one of the leading game developers, namely Zynga. Its value is unmitigated reaching USD 12.7 billion.

"We are excited to announce this transformative transaction with Zynga, which significantly diversifies our business and establishes our leadership position in mobile, which is the fastest growing segment of the interactive entertainment industry," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two.


According to him, this combination brings together the best-in-class console and PC franchises. With a market-leading diverse mobile game publisher platform, which has a history of innovation and creativity, we quoted from IGN, Thursday (13/1/2022).


Mark Pincus as CEO of Zynga owns 55 million shares. For the price paid by Take-Two per share for USD 3.50 . Meanwhile, each sheet is worth USD 6.36. So, Picus is ready to pocket around USD 193 million.


This is the largest video game company acquisition in history. In fact, this value exceeds the purchase of Supercell by Tencent of USD 8.6 billion. Including Zenix Media and Bethesda's ownership of Microsoft amounting to USD 8.1 billion.


Zynga is one of the most successful mobile game developers in the world. Where after they created titles like Words With Friends, Farmville and Harry Potter: Puzzles and Spells.


The company, which is famous for Zynga Poker, does not only serve games on mobile devices. Also included on social media platforms like Facebook. In fact, a total of more than 70 titles have been presented.


Currently, they are developing a new game that will come to the Nintendo Switch. Titled Star Wars Hunters, Zynga will launch it this year.
