Asked by WFO, Apple employees sulk and look for other jobs

Unlike other technology companies that allow their employees to WFH or work from home, Apple has even asked its employees to start working since April 11.

Then gradually on May 2, Apple employees were asked to sign in 2 days a week. Continuing on May 23, the schedule will be 3 days a week.

Well, in a recent survey conducted by an anonymous social network called Blind, more than half of Apple's employees admitted that they were prepared to look for work elsewhere and would resign from Apple.

The survey, which was conducted on April 19, stated that the reason for the employees was the WFO policy implemented by Apple.

One of the survey participants did not want to work from the office at all. Another reason is the fear of being infected with COVID-19, a toxic office culture, and admitting that his work is too time-consuming.

There are also those who say that Apple's management has never heard the aspirations of its employees. Another employee said that most of his team didn't even live near the office.

"Apple will see a major reduction in June. 60% of my team don't even live near the office. They won't be coming back," he wrote.

Keep in mind, this survey was only conducted on 652 employees, which is certainly very small compared to the total number of Apple employees. However, PR Director Blind admitted that they had verified the survey participants via their corporate email addresses.

"Many corporate workers are from engineering or product (division)," he added.

This policy applied by Apple is indeed unique. Given that technology companies such as Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet provide more flexible policies, where some employees can forever WFH or Work From Home. Even Twitter allows many of its employees to WFH.

Some of these employees claimed to be jealous of the policies of other technology offices. Some claim to have applied to other companies that offer full-time work from home. However, of course, there are also many employees who like WFO or who are resigned to following company regulations.
