Elon Musk Fires Singapore Tesla Boss, What's Up?

 


Not long ago, Elon Musk warned that there would be mass layoffs at Tesla companies globally. Now there is a victim, namely the Tesla Country Manager in Singapore.

Christopher Bousigues, who has only held the position for about a year, reported via LinkedIn that he had been 'eliminated'. He did not mention the reason, but confirmed that it was related to Elon Musk's announcement of layoffs at Tesla.


Quoted from Fox News, Tuesday (14/6/2022) Christopher before moving to Tesla had a prestigious position as boss of the software giant SAP in France. He was also surprised because he felt that he had accomplished as Tesla's boss in Singapore.


Since joining in June 2021, Christopher and his team have built Tesla's business from scratch and have made the Model 3 sedan quite popular there. He also built two showrooms and a service center, as well as several charger networks in Singapore.


"When something like this happens you wonder what is the best course of action, whether to remain silent about it. But that's not me. Transparency and honesty are important to me so sharing this news is the right thing to do. I believe when one door closes another gate. will open," he wrote on LinkedIn.


Christopher brought his family to Singapore after working at Tesla. Now that he has been laid off, he plans to return to Europe.


Previously, Elon Musk said that he had a bad feeling about the current state of the economy. According to him, Tesla needs to cut about 10% of employees at the Texas-based electric car manufacturer.


Elon Musk is also said to have written to Tesla executives asking them to stop the recruitment process. Tesla has 100,000 employees by the end of 2021, according to its annual financial statement (SEC) filing.
