United States Tightens Exports of Semiconductor Chip Technology, Gas Turbines And Natural Resources

Since the COVID-19 outbreak has presented a major challenge, especially when it comes to supply chain issues, the country is not only seen investing a lot of money to ensure the supply of local technology components is sufficient, but is also seen to be more paranoid in relation to technology shared with other countries.

This can be seen over the past two years through the economic sanctions on China and Russia, with companies such as Huawei being hit the hardest where they can no longer use large amounts of Google technology on their smart devices, while the sale and use of their telecommunications network equipment banned in the United States and a number of European countries.

Recently, the United States government has tightened exports for a number of technologies developed in the country, including the latest semiconductor chips and gas turbine engine components including natural resources such as gallium oxide and diamonds.

According to a government spokesperson, this is because the components that use these materials can operate in a higher voltage and temperature range than usual, and can be used for military purposes apart from the development of consumer devices and also for economic generation.

Apart from that, the United States is also seen to tighten exports and the use of equipment to develop new technologies such as software, additional equipment, semiconductor technology development and so on.
